📣 Community Call – Register Your Interest!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming conference in November! Co-organised by Statefree and the European Network on Statelessness (ENS), we’ll bring together community members, legal experts and institutional actors for three inspiring days of exchange, collaboration and innovation to take the next steps towards our shared goal: dismantling statelessness and building systems that truly include stateless people. For that, we will create a collective space to reflect, strategise and reimagine justice, belonging and protection for stateless people. 

🗓 What to Expect

Over the three days, we will explore themes such as solidarity-building, innovative protection practices, and the future of advocacy while focusing on lived experiences of statelessness. 

Day 1 – Arrive & Reflect.
We’ll begin by grounding ourselves in the broader context of statelessness in Europe, and in our own roles and realities. You’ll have the chance to connect with others and explore where you stand in this work. We’ll give you an overview of current projects and initiatives. Expect interactive workshops, deep dives, and collective reflection on shared gaps and emerging strategies.

Day 2 – Learn & Build.

The next day, we’ll explore examples of how new pathways to statelessness identification and protection are emerging across Europe, through collaboration, creativity and community leadership. We will go into more detail during different deep dives within expert groups on how collaboration happens, what works, and what challenges arise, with the goal of building a collective strategy to map shared gaps and potential solutions. 

Day 3 – Create & Advocate.

Together, we’ll imagine and shape new narratives and systems of belonging, beyond borders and bureaucracies. Through focused thematic hubs (for example advocacy, legal, media etc.), you’ll dive into the most pressing questions and build strategies for change.

💬 The conference will take place in English and German. All sessions will aim to be participatory and accessible for everyone. Childcare will be available.
