Hey @Jenoe,

thanks for sharing your situation here. I'm really sorry to hear what you and your brother Leonardo are going through. Being without papers, parents, or support — and living on the street — is incredibly tough and something that needs urgent attention.

In cases like this, both the UNHCR and the Swiss Refugee Council (OSAR) recommend reaching out to organizations that specialize in statelessness.

I’d like to tag @Nina Murray and @Sirazul Islam from the European Network on Statelessness (ENS) here. They have a lot of experience with these kinds of situations and may be able to support you directly or connect you with someone who can help in Switzerland.

You’re not alone — there are people who care and want to help. Stay strong, and we’re with you. 💛

Best wishes

Victoria Bukalo & the team

Hi @Jenoe and @Victoria

Thanks for tagging us @Victoria

@Jenoe , I’m really sorry to hear about your and your brother’s situation. Unfortunately, we can’t provide legal assistance/advice on your case at the ENS Secretariat, but we do have members in Switzerland who may be able to help depending on their capacity/expertise. We would be happy to try to connect you with one of our members in Switzerland if you would like - you can email us at info@statelessness.eu (copy me as well nina.murray@statelessness.eu )

You might also find some of the information here useful -  Switzerland | Statelessness Index - sometimes it can be helpful to share this page with social services/other services you are in contact with to explain what procedures there are in Switzerland for stateless people and what rights you should be able to access.

There is also some information about statelessness and where to get help in Switzerland on UNHCR Switzerland’s website here: Statelessness - UNHCR Switzerland and Liechtenstein

I hope this is helpful.

Sending best wishes,

Nina | European Network on Statelessness

Dear @Nina Murray and @Jenoe ,

Thank you so much, Nina, for your kind and thoughtful response – I really appreciate it.

@Jenoe  I’m very sorry to hear about your and your brother’s situation. I hope that with the information Nina shared, and possibly with support from ENS members in Switzerland, you'll be able to find the help you need.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the ENS team – they are incredibly supportive, and I’m confident they will do what they can to assist.

Wishing you both strength and sending warm thoughts,

Victoria Bukalo and the team
