Hallo Liebe Statefree-Community, Ich bin Gianna und arbeite für das Format Arte FAQ. Wir sind das Social-Video-Format des deutsch-französischen Senders Arte. Jede Woche beantworten wir auf Snapchat, TikTok und Instagram, eine Frage, die der Gen-Z unter den Nägeln brennt.In einer unserer kommenden Folgen wollen wir uns mit dem Thema “Staatenlosigkeit” beschäftigen und dem wichtigen Thema mehr Aufmerksamkeit verschaffen. Nun suchen wir noch Menschen, die bereit sind, ihre Erfahrungen und Geschichten mit uns zu teilen. Hi so, I’m a student in Germany, came from Gaza, Palestine to Germany via a student visa and I’m still in my 3rd semester but I have a student job and pay “student taxes” and so on. Does the XXX on my residence permit mean whatever I do and however long I stay in Germany despite having a degree from Germany and working and paying taxes and so on I will never get “naturalised” into the country? I came here for the LGBT rights and to feel safe and doing my best to naturalise  but now I have to worry about other stuff for the rest of my life? :’) 

Hello, I recently met someone who had to flee from their abusive home in an Eastern European country…  and had to leave all documents behind bc they were taken from them by the abusive parent… Reapplying for a new passport at the embassy is too dangerous bc of fear of the parent finding them.   The person’s application for asylum in another European country was rejected. So they now live in Germany in constant fear of being deported. Meanwhile getting a job in order to get a residence permit as work migrant  is nearly impossible without documents.     Any advice how to safely get documented again / get a legal status in Germany?

Hi,  I am stateless from Kuwait. I applied for asylum in the Netherlands almost a year ago with my wife (she was pregnant) and we voluntarily returned to Kuwait before any decision was issued in the asylum case. Can I apply for asylum again in Another country has knowledge of the issue of stateless people??

Ich bin Nicole Großmann und bin sowie mein Vater in Deutschland geboren. Mein Opa kam im zweiten Weltkrieg als Kriegsgefangener von Montenegro nach Deutschland und hat dann eine Deutsche Frau geheiratet und sein restliches Leben in Deutschland verbracht, genauso wie mein Vater und ich. Wir sind hier zur Schule gegangen, haben die Ausbildung abgeschlossen und immer gearbeitet. Leider wurden mein Vater und ich nie in Montenegro registriert, somit erhalten wir seit mehreren Jahren, seit Montenegro und Serbien sich getrennt haben keinen Ausweis mehr. Uns ist es nicht möglich, noch im Nachhinein dort registrieren zu lassen, da wir keine Verwandten haben, die helfen könnten und Geld für einen Anwalt haben wir auch nicht. Selbst reisen können wir ohne gültigen Ausweis ja nicht. Die Auslandsbehörde hier in Mülheim will nicht helfen wegen der Einbürgerung. Liebe Community,wir machen hier in Dresden seid 2015 das Format Montagscafe. Das ist ein Raum im Theater, der jeden Montag für Menschen aus Dresden (oder Umgebung) öffnet. Wir sind vor allem Anlaufstelle für Menschen, die neu in Dresden sind, was überwiegend geflüchtete Personen sind, weil wir auch ganz pragmatische Unterstützung anbieten, aber auch Wohnzimmer zum Leute kennenlernen. Fotos mit Eindrücken von diversen Veranstaltungen des Montagscafés (auch auswärts), findest du hier.Neben der praktischen Unterstützung und einer zu Hause Atmosphäre, gibt es immer ein kreativ-diskursives Programm mit Workshops oder Podiumsdiskussionen zu Themen, die unser Publikum betreffen. Also auch das große Thema Staatenlosigkeit. Am 5.Juni würden wir uns im Montagscafé gerne mit dem Thema Staatenlosigkeit auseinandersetzen, indem wir verschiedene Personen einladen und gemeinsam Diskustieren. Hello Community,I have a question concerning a client of mine (I am working as a psychologist). This client is currently stateless, although he has no official confirmation of being stateless. He came to Germany about 30 years ago from Aserbaidzhan - with a passport from the Soviet Union, birthplace Aserbaidzhan. Since his last passport expired he doesn’t have a valid passport - German authorities don’t want to confirm the statelessness. They want him to get official confirmations from russian and armentian consulate to prove that he is neither russian nor armenian citizen. He has a official document from Aserbaidzahn confirming that he has no aserbaidzhanian citizenship. All he wants is the official title of statelessness so that he is able to apply for German citizienship. He lives in the current situation (no valid documents) for 4 years now - which means he can’t work nor leave the country. Two lawyers who were involved in the case couldn’t help.
