Dear Statefree-Community, we are four Master's students at the University of Hamburg, majoring in Criminology and Sociology. As part of a research project with the working title: “Experiences of Statelessness Among Palestinians in Germany,” we are investigating the experiences of individuals of Palestinian origin living in Germany regarding statelessness.With our study we hope to contribute to a scientific topic that is still significantly underrepresented in society as well as in academia and, in our opinion, deserves more attention.For our study, we are looking for interview partners who live in Germany and are affected by statelessness due to their Palestinian origin.  Who we are looking forWe are interested in perspectives from people who are officially considered 'stateless' (XXA) as well as from people whose nationality is regarded as 'unresolved' (XXX) by the German authorities.

Hello everyone Im stateless I live in Kuwait I do look forward to seek asylum in eu country’s but I can’t get my travel documents so here’s my question to the stateless community: how did you get a travel documents?

My research explores how statelessness is defined and experienced by stateless and formerly stateless activists, aiming to centre those directly affected by statelessness as the true experts on statelessness.For this project I am interested in speaking to activists who are or have been stateless. This could be an official position – you might have travel documents or official recognition from a government or the UN – or an unofficial position – you might not have been officially recognised as stateless, but you might consider yourself stateless (or formerly stateless). HiA Stateless friend of mine from Kuwait was granted the right for asylum in Germany about 2 years ago. Since then he is trying to be reunified with his family who live currently in Kuwait but all his attempts failed. It is extremely difficult for Stateless people - even those with a refugee status - to navigate the complex German legal system for a family reunification.I’m trying to help him to find a German lawyer specialized in family reunification for Stateless people with refugee-status. Searching on the web proved to be challenging because I don’t speak German.Hopefully I can find someone here who can provide me with a list of German lawyers specialized in family reunification for Stateless people with refugee-status.

I am looking for help for Nura - she is just 18, born in Germany. Her parents came here from Syria in 2005, without any papers. They are Kurdish and came from a small village. At that time Kurdish people weren‘t accepted as Syrian citizens. So we wrote so many letters and Emails, but without any success. I saw the film at ZDF this week, Staatenlos, and I don‘t know if we have to travel  to Syria and look for a possibility tomget or buy a paper about Nuras mothters‘ birth?

Hallo liebe Community,mein Name ist Teoman Thomas Gülec , bin in Köln geboren am 12.10.1969 - bin staatenlos wegen nicht Erfüllung des Militär Dienstes in der Türkei ! Seit 2002 bin ich staatenlos und bekommen seitdem nur eine Duldung von 6 Monaten von der ausländerbehörde Köln ! Darf arbeiten (arbeite seit 3 Jahren bei Lindt Schokoladen Fabrik in Aachen ) aber darf mich nur in Köln anmelden , darf mich nicht bei meiner Familie anmelden die in Aachen wohnt habe 2 Kinder beide haben die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft meine nicht eheliche Partnerin ist tschechische Staatsbürgerin !Hatte genügend Anwälte aber hat alles nichts genützt nur Nerven und Geld ! I’m a writer, coach and energy worker and I have about 20 years of language teaching experience. I became stateless because I chose to spend time with my mom instead. During COVID, the school I was teaching at refused to pay me for two days and that was reason enough for me to quit my job. After 6 months of unemployment, interviewing, seeing that not much had changed, also seeing that as a self-employed in Austria, I would not make it thanks to the SVS, I asked my adviser at the AMS to take me off the payments list. Unemployment money stopped and with that, I dropped out of the healthcare system in Austria. I would rather spend my money on freedom, creativity and my own personal version of healthcare that actually supports my body and mind.
